Branden Sorensen snagged his first victory this season at the Holley Ls fest drift challenge. The 14-year-old made his way to the top of the podium! He also said, “during practice I got used to flying through the course in 4th gear, but on the last 2 practice runs my 4th gear kept popping out and it would not go in gear. I had to get used to using third gear and not let this issue affect my driving”. This kid did not let his transmission issues stand in his way and he flew through the course. Saying he made a cloud of smoke is an understatement! He is making his way into the drifting world one competition at a time and it will not be long until he is standing on a podium next to drivers like Chris Forsberg and other champion drivers. At the end of our interview I asked him “what are your plans for the future?”. He replied “I want to be a formula drift champion and be able to do what I love as a living. One of my dreams since I was a kid.” I think this kid has the skill and talent to become whatever he wants, he said he is “waiting for the right opportunity”.
