WHAT: Global tire manufacturer and motorsports powerhouse Nexen Tire Motorsports drifts into the ‘crossroads’ this weekend at Formula DRIFT Round 6: ‘Crossroads’ in Madison, Ill. With podium placements in nearly every race, including two wins, Nexen drivers are entering the home stretch to the championship this October.
Fredric Aasbo’s 332 points places him just behind first-place driver James Deane in Formula DRIFT standings. Nexen drivers Chris Forsberg (293 points) and Ryan Tuerck (273 points) round out the top 10. Nexen Tire Motorsports enters Round 6 in a solid second place, contending for the Tire Cup only 76 points behind Falken Tire.
Aasbo took the win in Round 1: Streets of Long Beach and Chris Forsberg topped the podium in Round 2: “Scorched” Orlando. At Round 3: “Road to the Championship” Atlanta, Aasbo took second and Forsberg finished third. At “Throwdown” in Monroe, Washington, new Nexen driver Ryan Tuerck took the podium for the first time this season. All Nexen team drivers are outfitted with Nexen Ultra High Performance N’Fera SUR4G street-legal racing tires to help them grip curves and perform in all track conditions.

Spectators can enter the gates beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 10 (will call opens at 8:00 a.m.). The first qualifying round begins at 11:45 a.m. PRO 2 open practice begins at 3:45 p.m., with the final competition starting at 6:00 p.m. and the winner being crowned at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, August 11, the arena once again opens at 11:00 a.m. The main competition begins at 1:15 p.m. with the final 16 competing at 5:30 p.m.and the winner being announced at 7:45 p.m. Parking is $10 each day.
